I originally began my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in business with every intention of working in advertising. In the beginning, I wasn’t feeling completely fulfilled. After connecting with a new friend who was majoring in interior design it was apparent that I needed to pursue a different path. I quickly changed my major. I had to complete two semesters of design classes before they would even accept me into the competitive and small program. Once I started taking classes, that was it for me, I felt like I had found my place. These college years were critical to my journey because they made me realize what I truly wanted – I had to fight for it!
In 2012, I launched my own interior design firm, Anne Rae Design. After 10 years working in the industry, I knew it was time to take what I had learned and really own what I was capable of. I gained so much experience and created a vision for my own firm. I realized the diversity in clients and their needs. I met challenges and crafted my ability to meet and work through them. At Anne Rae Design, I’m still learning and loving what I do. Every project is different, which can create unexpected challenges, but it’s also what I really love about interior design. I get to immerse myself in projects and embrace different styles and clients. Beyond my passion for design, I love advocating for my clients as a guide to their vision. There is nothing better than when the end result is everything the client ever wanted and exceeds their expectations. I am so lucky to be able to do this and I’m honored to work with my colleagues and clients everyday.
I’ve always been a coastal kind of girl, having grown up on Lake Michigan and now a San Diego resident of many years. When I’m not at the office, buzzing through showrooms, or onsite working with clients, you can find me with my family - my incredibly supportive and loving husband Patrick, my silly, wild but sweet toddler Oliver, and our quirky, rescue pup Eddie. True to the San Diego lifestyle, I enjoy being outdoors and staying active with running and yoga.

I was born and raised in Madrid, completely fascinated by the abundance of architecture and design. I knew at an early age that I wanted to be responsible for some of that beauty in the world.
When I moved to the US at the age of 11, I was provided with a new playground full of possibilities. From high school in Florida to traveling along the East Coast, I found myself continuously drawn back to the world of design and architecture. Living amongst the skyscrapers of New York City, the monuments in our nation’s capital, and the historical homes of the south and its alluring lowcountry, I again became mesmerized by the beauty and awe of everyday life. In 2010, I packed up my car and moved to San Diego to enroll in design school fulfilling a lifelong dream.
After graduating from the Design Institute of San Diego with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Interior Design, I worked in design related jobs before settling in at Anne Rae Design. Almost 3 years later – I am thankful everyday that I get to wake up and work on projects that at one point were only in dreams. I find inspiration from everyday life and the beauty I see – from a unique garment in a magazine to a relaxing day at the beach. I enjoy the entire process of interior design but find the most gratifying aspect to be seeing ideas and plans come to life. Being able to provide a beautiful home or space for clients where memories will be made is extremely rewarding to me and it continues to push me daily.
When I’m not designing, I enjoy playing softball and spending time with my rowdy rabbit, Henry.
